Hardacre Hall

Anderson University in Business

Hardacre Hall is a building with many purposes. It is home to the Falls School of Business and Adult Studies program, while also housing the physical plant and police and security services.

Dedicated to Anderson University on April 30th, 2001, the building is named for Cliff and Ruffina Hardacre and their family; the building was erected on what was previously their family's pastureland. The Hardacres owned East Side Jersey Dairy, a long-term partner of Anderson University which merged with Prairie Farms. In 1994, the first Anderson University Heritage Award was given to Wilber and Lester Hardacre, the sons of Cliff and Ruffina. Wilber and his son, William, were also awarded honorary doctoral degrees in 1986 and 1996 respectively.

The Falls School of Business, named for R. Glenn Falls, was also established in 2001. Dr. Falls was the second graduate of the Anderson College Business program. “I think the business department could be better,” he stated upon graduation. Therefore, after serving in World War II, he returned to teach business at Anderson College in 1952. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 1981, the John H. Kane Loyalty Award in 1987, and the Heritage Award in 1996.
