The Church of God

D.S. Warner Headshot

D.S. Warner

The Church of God movement began due to the work of D.S. Warner, an evangelistic preacher. It is derived from the Holiness movement which began in the 1800s from John Wesley’s teachings. The Church of God movement has no creed; however, the movement’s goals include the elimination of sectarianism, and the reaffirmation of the Holy Spirit.

For over a century, the Church of God movement has expanded domestically within the US borders and internationally outside of them. Today, the Movement boasts of churches in dozens of countries, and has multiple higher education institutions—such as Anderson University!¹
